Procedure

N

During:

  • Drink a specified amount of water prior to Kambo applications. Throughout the ceremony, water will be continually consumed.
  • An ember vine is burned until the tip is glowing red and then is lightly applied onto your skin. The burns are minor and sting momentarily.
  • For first timers, beforehand, a small application of Kambo will be administered to test for any adverse reaction as a safety precaution.
  • The burned first layer of skin is removed and expose the epidermis underneath to form what is called a gateway. It is cleaned in preparation for the Kambo secretion application.
  • Then, the number of Kambo dots administered is dependent on your body size, experience level, & reason for ceremony.
  • The Kambo dried resin is mixed with a small amount of water to form a paste. It is separated into small sized balls.
  • These prepared resin balls are then placed on your gateways in which the Kambo enters the lymphatic system into the bloodstream within seconds. The lymphatic system is the body’s secondary circulatory system which is responsible for purification of the body.
  • This is the only way to take Kambo – it is not safe to ingest it, snort it or to introduce it into the blood stream directly.
