Experience

Soon after the administration of Kambo, the body temperature is elevated as the heart rate rapidly increases, possibly climbing to 190 beats per minute. Thereafter, certain reactions could include a strong response from the nervous system in which an acceleration of blood flows through the veins, blood pressure rises or falls significantly. The first thing most people feel is a warmth or flushing, and an increase in pressure in the head and upper body as well. Following this will be a sensation of strong nausea which is most typically followed by purging either by vomiting and/or defecation. The Kambo experience usually lasts between 30 to 40 minutes. During this time, it will be intense and unpleasant but short-lived.

The possible side effects include:

muscle cramps / vomiting / sweating / shivers / dizziness / strong emotional reaction / blood pressure may rise or fall dramatically / head becomes burning hot / increased pressure in your head / blood pressure increases which turns the face red / feeling of pressure in the head, neck, and torso / stomach pain / inflammation of the throat / dry mouth / blurred vision (or temporary blindness) / difficulty moving / numbness / swollen lips and tongue / itchy skin

Afterwards the heart returns to its normal rate and you will feel relaxed. After this most people can feel quite sleepy and may need to lie down. After about an hour or so most people begin to feel much better and can eat and drink normally, and after some light refreshments you are able to go home. Within the next few days after a treatment is when you begin to feel the real benefits of Kambo. For some people the swelling can remain for a few days afterwards, for others, there is no swelling at all. The following day you will feel revitalized and refreshed. You may experience increased physical strength, elevated mood, decreased stress, heightened senses, and improved mental alertness.
